COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this course the student should be able to
• Impart the knowledge on design of various components used in automotive industries.
• Impart the knowledge on design of various components used in aerospace industries
• Impart the knowledge on design of biomedical systems and devices
• Impart knowledge on design of various components used in Power industries
• Impart knowledge on design of various components used in Power industries

UNIT I AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS

Introduction to Automotive – Major Components and Assemblies: Metallic – Non Metallic – Selection of materials- Design guidelines – Manufacturing guidelines –Testing and Quality assurance – Standards – Accreditation.

UNIT II AEROSPACE COMPONENTS

Introduction to Aerospace – Major Components and Assemblies: Metallic – Non Metallic – Selection of materials- Design guidelines – Manufacturing guidelines –Testing and Quality assurance – Standards – Accreditation.

UNIT III BIO-MEDICAL COMPONENTS

Introduction to biomedical systems – Implants – devices – Types – Design and manufacturing guidelines – Materials –Testing and Quality assurance – Standards – Accreditation.

UNIT IV POWER INDUSTRY

Introduction to Power Industry- Types of power plant – Layout- Components- Selection of materials- Design guidelines – Manufacturing guidelines –Testing and Quality assurance – Standards – Accreditation.

UNIT V FOOD INDUSTRY

Introduction to food processing – Machine and equipment- Components: Metallic and Non Metallic -Selection of materials- Design guidelines – Manufacturing guidelines –Testing and Quality assurance – Standards – Accreditation.
