AN3711 Mechatronics and Robotics Laboratory Syllabus – Anna University Regulation 2021

COURSE OBJECTIVES

1. To design the subcomponents of the system and assemble the Mechatronics system in CAD platform.
2. To model and simulate the Mechatronics system in computational platform.
3. To simulate and control the robot for various applications either virtually or using robot.

LIST OF EXPERIMENTS

MECHATRONICS SYSTEMS

1. Modelling and Simulation of 6 DOF Serial Manipulators (Any two of the following).
a) Cartesian robot
b) Articulated robot
c) SCARA robot
2. Modelling and Simulation of Parallel Manipulator.
3. Modelling and Simulation of Aerial Vehicle.
a) Quad copter
b) Drone
4. Modelling and Simulation of Mobile Robot.

ROBOTICS

1. Determination of maximum and minimum position of links.
2. Verification of transformation (Position and orientation) with respect to gripper and world coordinate system
3. Estimation of accuracy, repeatability and resolution.
4. Robot programming and simulation for pick and place
5. Robot programming and simulation for Colour identification
6. Robot programming and simulation for Shape identification
7. Robot programming and simulation for writing practice
8. Robot programming and simulation for any industrial process (Packaging, Assembly)
9 Robot programming and simulation for multi process.
(Any 6 experiments)

TOTAL: 60 PERIODS

COURSE OUTCOMES

Upon the completion of this course, the students will be able to;
1. Apply the design skill to develop the subcomponents of mechatronics systems.
2. Integrate and simulate the mechatronics system in CAD and computational platform
3. Use the virtual as well as real robots for various applications
